Information for performers

Registration for the 2008 Flagstaff Folk Festival is now officially closed. However, as in the past, there may be additional slots available up to the day of the festival, so I will continue to accept and keep track of registration forms for a few more weeks. Questions? Read below.

There is no selection process for performers (therefore demo CDs are not required). Slots are filled on a first come, first-served basis, though in the past we have not had to turn away performers. Bands will play on either an indoor or outdoor stage with sound reinforcement provided. Solo artists will typically play on one of two indoor stages without sound reinforcement. I understand that some solo performers have soft voices and/or instruments but we simply do not have the volunteers to provide sound on four stages for two days.

There is no compensation for performers other than the exposure and camaraderie of the festival. We had nearly 1200 attendees last year and over 100 musicians from around the southwest. All ticket revenue goes back into the festival. Of course performers are welcome to sell recordings either at their performances or at the volunteer-staffed CD table (we take no commission on sales).
